Our Brand New Podcast - Sharing Adoption Stories

2024 will see Adoption Focus celebrate our 15th anniversary as a Voluntary Adoption Agency. During this decade and a half, we have worked hand-in-hand with hundreds of incredible adopters as they’ve opened their hearts and homes to vulnerable children, and it has been our privilege to see them thrive and grow together as families. We’re also fortunate enough to have built up a dedicated group of supporters to complement our talented team, including panel members, trustees, volunteers, and our dedicated adopter committee.

As you can imagine, among this group and the wider community we work with whose lives are touched by adoption, there are endless stories to tell. It's because of this that we’ve launched Adoption in Focus, our brand new podcast series featuring a wide range of voices, each providing a different perspective on the subject of adoption.

Episode One of Adoption in Focus is out now, featuring a conversation with Adoption Focus CEO Anna Sharkey. Not only does Anna have a long career at the very heart of the UK adoption sector, she has a personal background in adoption and fostering, which has given her a unique insight into the subject and has been integral in making Adoption Focus such a successful agency.

On the launch of Adoption in Focus, Rebecca Rudge, our Head of Family Support said:

“I’m so pleased we’ve been able to launch our new podcast, which has grown out of the success of our education podcast, Education in Focus. We wanted to find a way of sharing the breadth of knowledge of adoption within the community we have built up over the years, and help people hear from others with similar experiences. We’ve recorded some great episodes on a range of topics already and we can’t wait to share them.”

You can download or listen to the first episode of Adoption in Focus below, or find it from your preferred podcast platform. If there’s a particular subject you’d like us to discuss, or if you’re interested in sharing your own experiences, please get in touch with the team.
