Based in Nottingham, Faith in Families is here for Lincolnshire residents, if you are looking to start a family through child adoption. We can offer support throughout the adoption process and help with fostering for adoption in Lincolnshire and beyond.
We are a registered charity and independent adoption agency working throughout the East Midlands, including Lincolnshire. Partnering with Local Authorities in Lincolnshire, we are able to match children with you, offering adoption services along with volunteering opportunities, and training and consultancy programmes.
Once you have registered your interest in becoming an adoptive parent by getting in touch with us, the adoption process in Lincolnshire involves a series of group meetings, reference checks, and the competition of a workbook prior to approval. The second stage then involves a period of assessment and preparation for the adoption, where you will also be connected with an adoptive family, who can offer additional support through their personal experience.
Your allocated social worker will prepare a report for the panel and once approved we then begin discussions about which child or children would be suited to you, beginning with getting to know the child gradually over a period of weeks, building up to the introduction of them into your family home.
We also offer fostering for adoption in Lincolnshire, which usually involves a baby or young child in care in uncertain circumstances where there is a small chance they may return to their birth family, but is likely that they will be able to be adopted by the foster carers they are placed with.
On our website, you can read more about our adoption services in Lincolnshire and the support services, as well as the work we do in schools and communities. You can also learn about how you can support our work, whether by making a donation, fundraising, or becoming a volunteer.
Our office is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm.
